The gents chatted all about the original Blade Runner last week, and now that BR2049 is out in theaters, they sat down and went as in-depth as only they can and talked all about the story, the themes, the cinematography, the score, and just about anything else you can think of about this fascinating new film.
They start off comparing 2049 to the original Blade Runner, then play a new game called "Why'd They Do That?" (25:30), talk about the look and style of the film as well as the genius of Roger Deakins (44:30, as well as getting into the score of the film (53:30).

Moonlight - Overthoughts

Friday Sep 29, 2017

Friday Sep 29, 2017

Welcome to Overthoughts. This is kind of the b-sides of The Overthink Podcast Network. If we have segments or topic we love that don't fit neatly into one of our shows, it might just end up here.
This episode the gang's talking about 2016's Moonlight, winner of Best Picture at this past year's Academy Awards. Ben, Jorge, Dom, and Kesha get into the style and technical aspects a little, but primarily focus on the story, the characters, and how they interacted with the film individually.
Thanks again to Kesha Shantrel for guesting this week as well! Also, make sure you check out Dom and Kesha's short film "When The Saints". And yes, Ben did the sound mix for that.
Also, make sure you're subscribed to the network so you don't miss a single episode of our various shows on art, media, and culture. New shows out every Monday and Friday!
